Boost levels, what each unlocks, and the 2026 perk changes
Server boost levels unlock at fixed thresholds: Level 1 at 2 boosts, Level 2 at 7, and Level 3 at 14. Each level keeps everything from the level below. Emoji slots go from 50 static and 50 animated at Level 0 to 100 of each at Level 1, 150 at Level 2, and 250 at Level 3, with static and animated held in separate pools that do not draw from one another.
Other perks scale alongside. Stickers run 5, 15, 30, and 60 across the tiers. Soundboard slots go 8, 24, 36, and 48. Voice quality rises to 128, 256, and 384 kbps. The server banner arrives at Level 2, and the custom vanity invite URL only at Level 3, which is why vanity slugs are far scarcer than the number of active servers would suggest.
During 2026 Discord added Additional Perks, which are allocated separately from level progression. Boosts dedicated to perks such as Server Tags or Enhanced Role Styles do not also count toward your level, so a server splitting boosts between the two will need more total boosts than the headline thresholds imply. Plan the allocation before asking members to boost.
Common problems and fixes
- The server dropped a level and perks disappeared
Most perks persist for about 72 hours after falling below the threshold, then deactivate. A vanity URL is lost immediately. - Boosts do not seem to count toward the level
They may be allocated to Additional Perks, which is a separate pool from level progression. - Emoji slots are full despite free space
Static and animated emoji use separate pools. A full static pool does not consume animated slots.
