Discord Webhook Sender

A webhook URL posts messages to one channel without a bot account, which makes it ideal for alerts and announcements, and dangerous if the URL leaks. This sender builds and posts rich embeds from your browser, and treats the webhook URL as a secret that is never stored.

Ready to send.

How to use the Webhook Sender

  1. Paste your webhook URL from Edit Channel, Integrations, Webhooks.
  2. Build the message content, embed, username, and avatar override.
  3. Send it, and regenerate the webhook if the URL is ever exposed.

Automated Channel Webhooks

Webhooks allow external web services to post messages to Discord without hosting a full bot.

Webhooks, and why the URL is a credential

A webhook is a URL bound to a single channel that accepts posted messages without any bot account or OAuth flow. That simplicity is the whole appeal for alerts, CI notifications, and cross-posting, and it is also the risk: the URL is the only authentication. Anyone who obtains it can post to that channel as often as rate limits allow, and there is no per-user permission layer behind it.

The consequence is that a webhook URL should be treated like a password. Do not paste it into a public repository, a screenshot, or a shared config file, and rotate it immediately if it is ever exposed. Deleting the webhook in channel settings invalidates the URL permanently; regenerating produces a fresh one that the old value cannot reach.

Within a single request a webhook can override the display name and avatar and send up to ten embeds, with the same embed limits that apply elsewhere: 4,096 characters in a description and 6,000 across all elements. Webhooks are rate limited per channel, so an integration that fires frequently should batch its output rather than sending one message per event.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a Discord Webhook URL?

In Discord, open Channel Settings > Integrations > Webhooks > New Webhook. Copy the Webhook URL and paste it here.

Is sending messages through Webhooks secure?

Yes. Webhook URLs contain a secret token that allows posting messages to that specific channel without sharing your password or admin credentials.

Can I customize the bot username and avatar for each message?

Yes! Webhooks allow setting a custom username and avatar image URL on every message sent.

Can Webhooks send rich embeds?

Yes. You can build colored embeds with titles, descriptions, fields, thumbnails, and footer text.

Can a webhook read messages or respond to commands?

No. Webhooks are send-only. Reading messages or handling commands requires a bot account.

Is my webhook URL stored by this tool?

No. The URL stays in your browser and the request goes directly to Discord.

How do I revoke a leaked webhook?

Delete it in Edit Channel, Integrations, Webhooks. The old URL stops working immediately.
